Guido Crepax (1933 - 2003) is seen as one of the most important Italian comic authors, maybe the best known internationally in the field of the comics for adults. After he worked as graphic designer and illustrator of newspapers, books and record covers, in 1965, thanks to the magazine Linus, he created the character that made him famous all over the world: Valentina. In the past 40 years, he drew over 5,000 comic-strip pages and about 200 editions of his books have been published in all the major languages.
